Instructions
Position Summary:
Responsible for purchasing manufactured items, resell items, as well as raw goods needed for production. This position also includes purchasing of non-manufacturing products and services as required.
Duties and Responsibilities

View drawings to determine the items needed to be purchased per job.

Maintain the purchasing policy and ensure all purchases adhere to it.

Select the suppliers and maintain the legal interaction with them.

Manage any SLA’s (Service Level Agreements) and Master Agreements between suppliers and the company.

Liaison with other departments, as needed to support manufacturing.

Review costs to ensure alignment with project budget.
-
Create purchase orders per requirements in order to meet customer and production needs.

Review inventories and place orders as required.

Interact with the suppliers as needed.

Review deliveries against the orders.
-
Track and forecast inventory levels to ensure availability.

Track and update systems with vendor acknowledgment dates, correct pricing, and base pricing as needed.

Timely communication of price adjustments to the affected department.

Negotiate prices with vendors when possible.

Send out RFQ “request for quotes” as required.

File freight claims when goods are damaged or missing.

Manage any procurement activities including RFP’s (Request For Proposals)

Match invoices, packing lists, and purchase orders to approve before submitting to accounting.

Receive in all direct shipments to close out the PO.

Inform accounting department when orders are closed and ready to be invoiced.

View drawings to determine items needed purchased per job.
Requirements

Computer software knowledge including Microsoft office products

Prior experience working within an MRP system, AS400 experience is a plus

Must be able to multi-task.

Experience
-
Training or experience reading blueprints.

Prior purchasing experience required.

Experience using an AS400 system a plus.

Minimum of 3 years relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Education

High School Diploma or GED
